About the Workshop

Writing Down the Brazos is an opportunity for writers to learn from highly qualified literary professionals and each other. The purpose of this workshop is for writers & artists to generate ideas and discover new methods of creating and marketing their written word. Keynote speaker Susan Petty gets the ball rolling by sharing her experiences as an editor in the competitive world of the regional university press. Participants select their own direction for the day through morning and afternoon sessions by experienced presenters. The day will end with a presenter panel for additional Q&A time for all. The all-inclusive workshop fee is $60.00.
Barking Rocks Winery hosts the opening reception on Friday, March 11th from 7pm to 9pm. Barking Rocks is Hood County’s only working winery and, in its brief history, has yielded award-winning wines. Find a map and more information at www.barkingrockswine.com.
Tarleton's Langdon Center is situated one block from Granbury’s historic square, nestled in the heart of the Brazos River Valley. The addition of the Langdon Center provides a more diverse and convenient extension for Tarleton State University students and residents of Granbury, Hood and surrounding counties. The relaxing setting and historic buildings add to the uniqueness of Tarleton's Langdon Center. For more information & map contact:
